Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire in Montreal's West Island is a tiny quiet town. This part of Montreal is known as the West Island has a lot of communities. Many who've never heard of it often think it is a separate, west-facing island. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on West Island, although it's not the case. Brugel grew to be a woman of a certain age living in Courtice Ontario, just outside Oshawa. Her initial ambition was to be an actor, but after a sudden expansion, she and her partner were no longer able to dance with her. She admitted in an article that was published in the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. When I grew out of my male partners, I quit. There are many dancers who make the move to acting. For Brugel, it was her drama teacher who nudged her in that direction. Her teacher invited her to audition for a part in a school production. She was chosen to play the main character of Anne of Green Gables after she had a go at. This led to her being awarded an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000, she received her BA in Fine Arts at York University. Over the last 20 years, Brugel's work been seen on both the large and small screen. The most notable was her attention when she won her part as Rita in the award-winning television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel played the role of Rita in the Handmaid's Tale, a series that was filmed over ten years ago.
